The best performing sector as of midday Wednesday is the Energy sector, up 1.3%. Within that group, Schlumberger Ltd (NYSE:SLB) and Noble Energy Inc (NASDAQ:NBL) are two of the day's stand-outs, showing a gain of 4.1% and 3.6%, respectively. Among energy ETFs, one ETF following the sector is the Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (NYSE:XLE), which is up 1.1% on the day, and up 5.96% year-to-date. Schlumberger Ltd, meanwhile, is up 3.13% year-to-date, and Noble Energy Inc is up 10.13% year-to-date. Combined, SLB and NBL make up approximately 5.1% of the underlying holdings of XLE.

The next best performing sector is the Utilities sector, higher by 0.4%. Among large Utilities stocks, Edison International (NYSE:EIX) and Public Service Enterprise Group Inc (NYSE:PEG) are the most notable, showing a gain of 3.0% and 0.9%, respectively. One ETF closely tracking Utilities stocks is the Utilities Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLU), which is up 0.5% in midday trading, and up 21.91% on a year-to-date basis. Edison International, meanwhile, is up 28.13% year-to-date, and Public Service Enterprise Group Inc is up 20.02% year-to-date. Combined, EIX and PEG make up approximately 6.4% of the underlying holdings of XLU.
