Looking at the sectors faring best as of midday Monday, shares of Utilities companies are outperforming other sectors, losing just 0.6%. Within the sector, American Water Works Co, Inc. (NYSE:AWK) and CenterPoint Energy, Inc (NYSE:CNP) are two large stocks leading the way, showing a gain of 0.7% and 0.7%, respectively. Among utilities ETFs, one ETF following the sector is the Utilities Select Sector SPDR ETF (NYSE:XLU), which is down 1.2% on the day, and up 6.16% year-to-date. American Water Works Co, Inc., meanwhile, is up 17.92% year-to-date, and CenterPoint Energy, Inc is up 15.90% year-to-date. Combined, AWK and CNP make up approximately 4.7% of the underlying holdings of XLU.
The next best performing sector is the Healthcare sector, losing just 1.5%. Among large Healthcare stocks, Incyte Corporation (NASDAQ:INCY) and Pfizer Inc (NYSE:PFE) are the most notable, showing a gain of 1.1% and 0.2%, respectively. One ETF closely tracking Healthcare stocks is the Health Care Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLV), which is down 1.7% in midday trading, and up 16.01% on a year-to-date basis. Incyte Corporation, meanwhile, is down 11.68% year-to-date, and Pfizer Inc is up 22.68% year-to-date. Combined, INCY and PFE make up approximately 5.2% of the underlying holdings of XLV.
