The best performing sector as of midday Thursday is the Consumer Products sector, losing just 0.2%. Within that group, Ralph Lauren Corp (NYSE:RL) and Hershey Company (NYSE:HSY) are two large stocks leading the way, showing a gain of 5.1% and 3.3%, respectively. Among consumer products ETFs, one ETF following the sector is the iShares U.S. Consumer Goods ETF (NYSE:IYK), which is up 0.6% on the day, and up 2.21% year-to-date. Ralph Lauren Corp, meanwhile, is up 0.53% year-to-date, and Hershey Company is up 6.04% year-to-date. HSY makes up approximately 1.5% of the underlying holdings of IYK.
The next best performing sector is the Utilities sector, losing just 0.3%. Among large Utilities stocks, CMS Energy Corp (NYSE:CMS) and Exelon Corp (NASDAQ:EXC) are the most notable, showing a gain of 1.3% and 1.0%, respectively. One ETF closely tracking Utilities stocks is the Utilities Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLU), which is down 0.4% in midday trading, and down 3.52% on a year-to-date basis. CMS Energy Corp, meanwhile, is down 0.40% year-to-date, and Exelon Corp is up 5.07% year-to-date. Combined, CMS and EXC make up approximately 6.2% of the underlying holdings of XLU.
