Looking at the sectors faring worst as of midday Monday, shares of Consumer Products companies are underperforming other sectors, showing a 1.4% loss. Within the sector, Kimberly-Clark Corp. (NASDAQ:KMB) and LKQ Corp (NASDAQ:LKQ) are two large stocks that are lagging, showing a loss of 13.8% and 4.5%, respectively. Among consumer products ETFs, one ETF following the sector is the iShares U.S. Consumer Goods ETF (NYSE:IYK), which is down 0.8% on the day, and up 2.72% year-to-date. Kimberly-Clark Corp., meanwhile, is down 18.33% year-to-date, and LKQ Corp, is down 14.46% year-to-date. KMB makes up approximately 2.1% of the underlying holdings of IYK.
The next worst performing sector is the Materials sector, showing a 1.1% loss. Among large Materials stocks, International Paper Co (NYSE:IP) and Builders FirstSource Inc. (NYSE:BLDR) are the most notable, showing a loss of 4.6% and 3.2%, respectively. One ETF closely tracking Materials stocks is the Materials Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLB), which is down 0.8% in midday trading, and up 2.47% on a year-to-date basis. International Paper Co, meanwhile, is down 28.91% year-to-date, and Builders FirstSource Inc., is down 21.34% year-to-date. IP makes up approximately 4.0% of the underlying holdings of XLB.
