Investors are ringing in the new trading week analyzing data that showed that U.S. construction spending in February recorded its largest drop in seven months while growth in the U.S. manufacturing sector was slightly higher in March.
Good morning, this is Kristin Bianco with the Week Ahead Market Report for April 2, 2012.
In overseas trading, Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average was higher by about a quarter of a percent and the Hang Seng was lower by about 0.16 percent.
The FTSE 100 was higher by about 1.09% and the German DAX was higher by 0.22%.
Some key data due to be released this week includes auto sales on Tuesday, crude inventories on Wednesday, inital claims on Thursday, and consumer credit on Friday.
On the earnings front, expect to hear from Gold Reserve (GRZ) and Monsanto (MON) on Wednesday, Carmax (NYSE:KMX) on Thursday, as well as FNB United (FNBN) on Friday.
