The US markets are mixed this afternoon, with the Dow down 0.04%, the S&P up 0.01% and the Nasdaq up 0.04% so far today. Some of the most actively traded stocks include Pfizer (PFE) down 2.5%, Facebook (FB) up 1% and Bank of America lower by 1.3%.
Good afternoon, this is Kristin Bianco with the Week Ahead Market Report for May 5, 2014.
In overseas trading, Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average was down 0.19%, and the Hang Seng was lower by 1.28%. In Europe on Monday, the FTSE 100 was higher by 0.20% and the German DAX was down 0.28% today.
In economic news, Trade Balance is released tomorrow, Consumer Credit on Wednesday, Initial Claims on Thursday and Wholesale Inventories on Friday.
Many earnings releases this week including: DIRECTV (DTV) and Groupon (NASDAQ:GRPN) on Tuesday, Molycorp (MCP) and Transocean (NYSE:RIG) on Wednesday, Cablevision Systems (CVC) on Thursday and E. W. Scripps (NASDAQ:SSP) on Friday.
