The US markets are slightly higher this afternoon, with the Dow up 0.01%, the S&P up 0.06% and the Nasdaq higher by 0.10% so far today. Some of the most actively traded stocks include Covidien (COV) higher by 20.75%, Medtronic (NYSE:MDT) down 1.2%, Fusion-io (FIO) up 23% and Bank of America (BAC) down 1%.
Good afternoon, this is Kristin Bianco with the Week Ahead Market Report for June 16, 2014.
In overseas trading, Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average was down 1.09%, and the Hang Seng was lower by 0.08%. In Europe on Tuesday, the FTSE 100 was lower by 0.34% and the German DAX was down 0.29% today.
In economic news, Housing Starts, Building Permits and CPI come out tomorrow, and Initial Claims on Thursday.
Companies releasing earnings this week include: Adobe Systems (NASDAQ:ADBE) on Tuesday, Jabil Circuit (NYSE:JBL) on Wednesday, Kroger (NYSE:KR) on Thursday, and Darden Restaurants (NYSE:DRI) on Friday.
