The S&P 500 and NASDAQ Composite are lower in early afternoon trading, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average is slightly higher. Some of the most actively traded stocks Bank of America (NYSE:BAC) down 0.33%, Yahoo! (YHOO) higher by 0.12%, Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) up 0.28%, Nokia (NYSE:NOK) higher by 2.54% and Avanir Pharmaceuticals (AVNR) up 66.5%.
Good afternoon, this is Sayoko Murase with the Week Ahead Market Report for September 15, 2014.
In overseas trading, Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average was higher, up 0.25%, and the Hang Seng was down 0.97%. In Europe, the FTSE 100 was down 0.04% and the German DAX was up 0.09% today.
In economic news, PPI comes out Tuesday, CPI on Wednesday, Initial Claims, and Housing Starts and Building Permits on Thursday.
Companies releasing earnings this week include: Adobe Systems (NASDAQ:ADBE) on Tuesday, Lennar (NYSE:LEN) on Wednesday, and ConAgra Foods (NYSE:CAG) and Oracle (NYSE:ORCL) on Thursday
