The US markets are mixed in early afternoon trading, with the Dow down 0.33%, the S&P lower by 0.22% and the Nasdaq up 0.18%. Some of the most actively traded stocks include Compuware (CPWR) up 12.5%, Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) higher by 0.61%, and Bank of America (NYSE:BAC) up 0.50%.
Good afternoon, this is Sayoko Murase with the Week Ahead Market Report for September 2, 2014.
In overseas trading, Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average was higher, up 1.24%, and the Hang Seng was just about flat, down 0.01%. In Europe, the FTSE 100 was up 0.06% and the German DAX was up 0.30% today.
In economic news, Auto and Truck sales are released tomorrow, Initial Claims on Thursday, and Nonfarm Payrolls, Unemployment Rate and Hourly Earnings on Friday.
Companies releasing earnings this week include: H&R Block (NYSE:HRB) on Wednesday, and Joy Global (NYSE:JOY) and VeriFone Systems (NYSE:PAY) on Thursday.
