The S&P 500, NASDAQ Composite Dow Jones Industrial Average are all higher at this point on Monday afternoon. Some of the most actively traded stocks include Bank of America (NYSE:BAC) up 1%, CSX Corp. (NASDAQ:CSX) higher by 8.9%, Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) up 0.65%, Facebook (FB) up 2% and Sirius XM (NASDAQ:SIRI) up 2.8%.
Good afternoon, this is Kristin Bianco with the Week Ahead Market Report for October 13, 2014.
In overseas trading, Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average was lower, down 1.15%, and the Hang Seng was up 0.24%. In Europe, the FTSE 100 was higher by 0.41% and the German DAX was up 0.27% today.
In economic news, Retail Sales and PPI are released Wednesday, Initial Claims on Thursday, and Housing Starts on Friday.
Companies releasing earnings this week include: Citigroup (NYSE:C), JPMorgan Chase (NYSE:JPM) and Intel (NASDAQ:INTC) on Tuesday, American Express (NYSE:AXP), Bank of America (NYSE:BAC), eBay (NASDAQ:EBAY) and Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX) on Wednesday, Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ:AMD), Baker Hughes (BHI), and Capital One (NYSE:COF) on Thursday, and Bank of New York Mellon (NYSE:BK), General Electric (NYSE:GE), and Morgan Stanley (NYSE:MS) on Friday.
