The S&P 500 and NASDAQ Composite are both higher at this point on Monday afternoon, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average is slighly lower. Some of the most actively traded stocks include Bank of America (NYSE:BAC) up 0.25%, Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) higher by 1.75%, Pfizer (NYSE:PFE) lower by 0.10% and Facebook higher by 1.1%.
Good afternoon, this is Tracey Fitzpatrick with the Week Ahead Market Report for October 20, 2014.
In overseas trading, Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average was higher, up 3.98%, and the Hang Seng was up 0.2%. In Europe, the FTSE 100 was lower by 0.68% and the German DAX was down 1.50% today.
In economic news, Existing Home Sales is released tomorrow, CPI on Wednesday, and Initial Claims on Thursday.
Companies releasing earnings this week include: A. O. Smith (NYSE:AOS) and Kimberly-Clark (NYSE:KMB) tomorrow, Abbott Laboratories (NYSE:ABT), Dow Chemical (NYSE:DOW) and General Motors (NYSE:GM) on Wednesday, 3M (NYSE:MMM), American Airlines Group (NASDAQ:AAL), Dr Pepper Snapple Group (DPS), Eli Lilly (NYSE:LLY), and Lorillard (LO) on Thursday, and Barnes Group (NYSE:B), Colgate-Palmolive (NYSE:CL), Procter & Gamble (NYSE:PG) and United Parcel Service (NYSE:UPS) on Friday.
