The S&P 500, NASDAQ Composite Dow Jones Industrial Average are all relatively flat on Monday afternoon. Some of the most actively traded stocks include GT Advanced Technologies (GTAT) down 91.5%, Bank of America (NYSE:BAC) up 0.3%, HP (NYSE:HPQ) higher by 5.75%, and CareFusion (CFN) up 23.2%.
Good afternoon, this is Sayoko Murase with the Week Ahead Market Report for October 6, 2014.
In overseas trading, Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average was higher, up 1.16%, and the Hang Seng was up 1.09%. In Europe, the FTSE 100 was higher by 0.55% and the German DAX was up 0.15% today.
In economic news, Consumer Credit is released on Tuesday, Initial Claims and Wholesale Inventories on Thursday, and Import/Export Prices on Friday.
Companies releasing earnings this week include: Yum! Brands (NYSE:YUM) on Tuesday, Alcoa (NYSE:AA) and Costco Wholesale (NASDAQ:COST) on Wednesday, Family Dollar Stores (FDO) and PepsiCo (NASDAQ:PEP) on Thursday, and Fastenal (NASDAQ:FAST) on Friday.
