The First Trust Energy AlphaDEX Fund ETF (NYSE:FXN) is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Thursday, with over 7.4 million shares traded versus three month average volume of about 512,000. Shares of FXN were up about 1.9% on the day.
Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Thursday were Whiting Petroleum (WLL), trading up about 4.8% with over 26.7 million shares changing hands so far this session, and Marathon Oil (NYSE:MRO), up about 1.3% on volume of over 18.6 million shares. California Resources (NYSE:CRC) is the component faring the best Thursday, up by about 9.5% on the day, while Terraform Power (TERP) is lagging other components of the First Trust Energy AlphaDEX Fund ETF, trading lower by about 6.4%.
