The iShares Russell Mid-Cap Growth ETF (NYSE:IWP) is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Friday, with over 1.6 million shares traded versus three month average volume of about 255,000. Shares of IWP were off about 0.1% on the day.
Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Friday were Sirius XM Holdings (NASDAQ:SIRI), trading off about 0.1% with over 27.3 million shares changing hands so far this session, and Rite Aid (RAD), up about 3.7% on volume of over 27.0 million shares. Ionis Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:IONS) is the component faring the best Friday, up by about 10.5% on the day, while AMC Networks (NASDAQ:AMCX) is lagging other components of the iShares Russell Mid-Cap Growth ETF, trading lower by about 3.8%.
