The iShares Russell Mid-Cap Growth ETF (NYSE:IWP) is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Wednesday, with over 1.4 million shares traded versus three month average volume of about 271,000. Shares of IWP were trading flat on the day.
Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Wednesday were Chesapeake Energy (NASDAQ:CHK), trading up about 1.4% with over 28.3 million shares changing hands so far this session, and Sirius XM Holdings (NASDAQ:SIRI), up about 0.2% on volume of over 19.2 million shares. Royal Gold (NASDAQ:RGLD) is the component faring the best Wednesday, up by about 6.7% on the day, while Skechers USA (NYSE:SKX) is lagging other components of the iShares Russell Mid-Cap Growth ETF, trading lower by about 9.4%.
