Franklin Resources (NYSE:BEN) a quarterly cash dividend in the amount of $0.20 per share payable on January 13, 2017 to stockholders of record holding shares of common stock at the close of business on December 30, 2016. The quarterly dividend of $0.20 per share represents an 11% increase over the dividends paid for the prior and the same quarter last year.

Caterpillar (NYSE:CAT) voted to maintain the quarterly cash dividend of seventy-seven cents ($0.77) per share of common stock, payable February 18, 2017, to stockholders of record at the close of business on January 20, 2017.

The General Mills Board of Directors declared a quarterly dividend at the prevailing rate of $0.48 per share, payable February 1, 2017, to shareholders of record as of January 10, 2017. General Mills (NYSE:GIS) current annualized dividend rate of $1.92 per share represents an increase of 8 percent over the annual dividend of $1.78 paid in fiscal 2016.

Xcel Energy (NASDAQ:XEL) declared a quarterly dividend on its common stock of 34 cents per share. The dividends are payable January 20, 2017, to shareholders of record on December 27, 2016.

Realty Income Corporation (NYSE:O) has declared an increase in the company's common stock monthly cash dividend to $0.2025 per share from $0.202 per share. The dividend is payable on January 13, 2017 to shareholders of record as of January 3, 2017. The ex-dividend date for January's dividend is December 29, 2016.

Mead Johnson Nutrition Company (MJN) has declared a regular quarterly dividend of $0.4125 per share for the quarter ending December 31, 2016. The dividend will be paid on January 6, 2017, to shareholders of record at close of business on Friday, December 23, 2016.
