The SPDR S&P 500 Growth ETF (NYSE:SPYG) is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Monday, with over 592,000 shares traded versus three month average volume of about 35,000. Shares of SPYG were off about 0.2% on the day.
Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Monday were Micron Tech (NASDAQ:MU), trading off about 2.9% with over 24.1 million shares changing hands so far this session, and Pfizer (NYSE:PFE), up about 2.2% on volume of over 22.0 million shares. Regeneron Pharmaceutical (NASDAQ:REGN) is the component faring the best Monday, higher by about 4.8% on the day, while Alexion Pharmaceuticals (ALXN) is lagging other components of the SPDR S&P 500 Growth ETF, trading lower by about 12.5%.
