The iShares Russell 3000 ETF (AMEX:IWV) is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Thursday, with over 1.1 million shares traded versus three month average volume of about 145,000. Shares of IWV were up about 0.1% on the day.
Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Thursday were Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ:AMD), trading off about 2% with over 48.6 million shares changing hands so far this session, and Bank of America (NYSE:BAC), up about 0.8% on volume of over 26.7 million shares. Hertz Global Holdings (NYSE:HTZ) is the component faring the best Thursday, up by about 14.1% on the day, while Maui Land & Pineapple (NYSE:MLP) is lagging other components of the iShares Russell 3000 ETF, trading lower by about 26.1%.
