The SPDR S&P 400 Mid Cap Growth ETF (NYSE:MDYG) is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Friday, with over 87,000 shares traded versus three month average volume of about 29,000. Shares of MDYG were down about 0.2% on the day.
Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Friday were Southwestern Energy (NYSE:SWN), trading off about 2.1% with over 8.6 million shares changing hands so far this session, and United States Steel (NYSE:X), up about 0.4% on volume of over 5.1 million shares. Fulton Financial (NASDAQ:FULT) is the component faring the best Friday, higher by about 4.2% on the day, while Arris International (NASDAQ:ARRS) is lagging other components of the SPDR S&P 400 Mid Cap Growth ETF, trading lower by about 3.2%.
