In early trading on Thursday, shares of Viacom (VIAB) topped the list of the day's best performing components of the S&P 500 index, trading up 4.1%. Year to date, Viacom has lost about 14.2% of its value.
And the worst performing S&P 500 component thus far on the day is H&R Block (NYSE:HRB), trading down 5.8%. H&R Block is showing a gain of 18.8% looking at the year to date performance.
Two other components making moves today are Alexion Pharmaceuticals (ALXN), trading down 2.3%, and Edwards Lifesciences (EW), trading up 3.5% on the day.
