As the saying goes, there are many possible reasons for an insider to sell a stock, but only one reason to buy -- they expect to make money. So let's look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
On Wednesday, Ditech Holding Corp (DHCP)'s, Leon G. Cooperman, made a $1.82M purchase of DHCP, buying 172,254 shares at a cost of $10.54 each. Bargain hunters can bag DHCP even cheaper than Cooperman did, with the stock changing hands as low as $9.15 at last check today -- that's 13.2% under Cooperman's purchase price. Ditech Holding Corp is trading up about 1.2% on the day Friday. This buy marks the first one filed by Cooperman in the past year.
And also on Wednesday, Senior Managing Director Kendall K. Young bought $306,739 worth of HCP (NASDAQ:HCP), buying 14,000 shares at a cost of $21.91 each. This purchase marks the first one filed by Young in the past year. HCP is trading up about 1.2% on the day Friday.
