In trading on Thursday, the iShares U.S. Energy ETF (NYSE:IYE) is outperforming other ETFs, up about 1.9% on the day. Components of that ETF showing particular strength include shares of Whiting Petroleum (WLL), up about 26.2% and shares of Chesapeake Energy (NASDAQ:CHK), up about 21.1% on the day.
And underperforming other ETFs today is the SPDR S&P Bank ETF (NYSE:KBE), down about 0.7% in Thursday afternoon trading. Among components of that ETF with the weakest showing on Thursday were shares of Lendingtree (NASDAQ:TREE), lower by about 8.4%, and shares of Bancorpsouth Bank (BXS), lower by about 1.6% on the day.
