Bargain hunters are wise to pay careful attention to insider buying, because although there are many various reasons for an insider to sell a stock, presumably the only reason they would use their hard-earned dollars to make a purchase, is that they expect to make money. Today we look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
At DENTSPLY SIRONA (NASDAQ:XRAY), a filing with the SEC revealed that on Wednesday, EVP, CFO Nicholas W. Alexos purchased 50,000 shares of XRAY, for a cost of $44.71 each, for a total investment of $2.24M. Alexos was up about 3.8% on the buy at the high point of today's trading session, with XRAY trading as high as $46.39 at last check today. DENTSPLY SIRONA is trading up about 3.4% on the day Thursday. Before this latest buy, Alexos made one other purchase in the past year, buying $3.29M shares at a cost of $65.85 each.
And at Fluor Corp. (NYSE:FLR), there was insider buying on Tuesday, by Director Peter J. Fluor who bought 50,000 shares for a cost of $44.54 each, for a total investment of $2.23M. Fluor Corp. is trading up about 1% on the day Thursday. Fluor was up about 3.2% on the purchase at the high point of today's trading session, with FLR trading as high as $45.98 in trading on Thursday.
