In early trading on Tuesday, shares of Cimarex Energy (XEC) topped the list of the day's best performing components of the S&P 500 index, trading up 2.0%. Year to date, Cimarex Energy has lost about 24.8% of its value.
And the worst performing S&P 500 component thus far on the day is CF Industries Holdings (NYSE:CF), trading down 5.2%. CF Industries Holdings is showing a gain of 2.4% looking at the year to date performance.
Two other components making moves today are Freeport-McMoran Copper & Gold (FCX), trading down 3.9%, and Colgate-Palmolive (CL), trading up 1.7% on the day.
