As the saying goes, there are many possible reasons for an insider to sell a stock, but only one reason to buy — they expect to make money. So let's look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
On Thursday, Compass Diversified Holdings (NYSE:CODI)'s , C. Sean Day, made a $119,356 buy of CODI, purchasing 8,972 shares at a cost of $13.30 a piece. So far Day is in the green, up about 13.7% on their purchase based on today's trading high of $15.12. Compass Diversified Holdings is trading up about 4.2% on the day Tuesday. This purchase marks the first one filed by Day in the past twelve months.
And on Monday, Director Sean Stalfort bought $96,386 worth of Verrica Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:VRCA), buying 9,221 shares at a cost of $10.45 a piece. This purchase marks the first one filed by Stalfort in the past twelve months. Verrica Pharmaceuticals is trading down about 2.9% on the day Tuesday. So far Stalfort is in the green, up about 12.9% on their buy based on today's trading high of $11.80.
