Bargain hunters are wise to pay careful attention to insider buying, because although there are many various reasons for an insider to sell a stock, presumably the only reason they would use their hard-earned dollars to make a purchase, is that they expect to make money. Today we look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
On Tuesday, Volt Information Sciences' SVP & Chief Financial Officer, Paul Tomkins, made a $23,500 buy of VISI, purchasing 5,000 shares at a cost of $4.70 a piece. Tomkins was up about 2.1% on the buy at the high point of today's trading session, with VISI trading as high as $4.80 at last check today. Volt Information Sciences is trading down about 1.2% on the day Wednesday. Before this latest buy, Tomkins made one other purchase in the past twelve months, buying $30,960 shares for a cost of $3.44 a piece.
And also on Tuesday, CFO Joseph C. Daches purchased $12,500 worth of Lilis Energy, purchasing 10,000 shares at a cost of $1.25 each. Before this latest buy, Daches made one other buy in the past twelve months, purchasing $75,750 shares at a cost of $3.03 each. Lilis Energy is trading trading flat on the day Wednesday.
