As the saying goes, there are many possible reasons for an insider to sell a stock, but only one reason to buy — they expect to make money. So let's look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
At KalVista Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:KALV), a filing with the SEC revealed that on Friday, Director Albert Cha bought 61,280 shares of KALV, for a cost of $17.79 each, for a total investment of $1.09M. So far Cha is in the green, up about 5.0% on their buy based on today's trading high of $18.69. KalVista Pharmaceuticals is trading up about 6% on the day Monday. Before this latest buy, Cha made one other purchase in the past twelve months, buying $18.00M shares for a cost of $17.00 each.
And at DXC Technology (NYSE:DXC), there was insider buying on Thursday, by CEO John M. Lawrie who purchased 4,166 shares for a cost of $56.26 each, for a trade totaling $234,384. DXC Technology is trading up about 1.5% on the day Monday. Lawrie was up about 1.3% on the buy at the high point of today's trading session, with DXC trading as high as $57.00 in trading on Monday.
