As the saying goes, there are many possible reasons for an insider to sell a stock, but only one reason to buy -- they expect to make money. So let's look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
At Ree Automotive, a filing with the SEC revealed that on Thursday, Director Hans Thomas bought 222,000 shares of REE, for a cost of $5.77 each, for a total investment of $1.28M. Ree Automotive is trading up about 2.4% on the day Friday.
And at Design Therapeutics, there was insider buying on Tuesday, by Director Arsani William who purchased 40,000 shares for a cost of $15.45 each, for a trade totaling $618,000. Before this latest buy, William made one other buy in the past twelve months, purchasing $14M shares at a cost of $20.00 each. Design Therapeutics is trading up about 4.8% on the day Friday. William was up about 23.0% on the buy at the high point of today's trading session, with DSGN trading as high as $19.00 at last check today.
