Bargain hunters are wise to pay careful attention to insider buying, because although there are many various reasons for an insider to sell a stock, presumably the only reason they would use their hard-earned cash to make a purchase, is that they expect to make money. Today we look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
On Thursday, MainStreet Bancshares', Ali R. Manouchehri, made a $103,450 buy of MNSB, purchasing 5,000 shares at a cost of $20.69 each. MainStreet Bancshares is trading up about 2.1% on the day Thursday. Before this latest buy, Manouchehri made one other buy in the past year, purchasing $8,155 shares at a cost of $16.31 a piece.
And on Tuesday, Michael A. McManus Jr. bought $102,060 worth of United States Antimony, buying 70,000 shares at a cost of $1.46 each. Before this latest buy, McManus Jr. bought UAMY on 2 other occasions during the past year, for a total investment of $79,955 at an average of $0.43 per share. United States Antimony is trading up about 12% on the day Thursday. McManus Jr. was up about 27.6% on the purchase at the high point of today's trading session, with UAMY trading as high as $1.86 in trading on Thursday.
