As the saying goes, there are many possible reasons for an insider to sell a stock, but only one reason to buy -- they expect to make money. So let's look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
At Constellation Brands, a filing with the SEC revealed that on Friday, Director William T. Giles purchased 1,000 shares of STZ, at a cost of $186.39 each, for a total investment of $186,390. Investors are able to buy STZ even cheaper than Giles did, with the stock trading as low as $179.87 in trading on Tuesday -- that's 3.5% under Giles's purchase price. Constellation Brands is trading off about 2.3% on the day Tuesday. This purchase marks the first one filed by Giles in the past year.
And at RxSight, there was insider buying on Thursday, by Jesse Anderson Corley who bought 3,210 shares at a cost of $31.15 each, for a trade totaling $100,004. Before this latest buy, Corley made one other purchase in the past year, buying $1.01M shares for a cost of $45.14 a piece. RxSight is trading up about 2.9% on the day Tuesday.
