In early trading on Friday, shares of Amazon.com topped the list of the day's best performing components of the S&P 500 index, trading up 12.0%. Year to date, Amazon.com has lost about 17.9% of its value.

And the worst performing S&P 500 component thus far on the day is Intel, trading down 10.1%. Intel is lower by about 30.7% looking at the year to date performance.

Two other components making moves today are DexCom, trading down 7.8%, and Chevron, trading up 6.9% on the day.
