Daily Dividend Report: BK, LLY, SO, DUK, NOC Tuesday, October 20, 4:08 PM ET
Bank of New York Mellon (NYSE:BK) declared its quarterly dividend today of nine cents per share, matching the dividend paid last quarter. With the dividend, the company also announced a loss in the third quarter of $2.05 per share, mostly due to restructuring charges. Excluding these items, the bank would have earned fifty four cents per share, easily topping Wall Street estimates of forty eight cents.
Investors reponded favorably to the good earnings report, sending shares higher by more than six and a half percent.
In other dividend news, Eli Lilly (NYSE:LLY) maintained its quarterly dividend of 49 cents per share. Southern Company (NYSE:SO) maintained its quarterly dividend of 43.75 cents per share. Duke Energy (NYSE:DUK) maintained its quarterly dividend of 24 cents per share. And defense contractor, Northrop Grumman (NYSE:NOC) maintained its quarterly dividend of 43 cents per share.
