Wednesday's ETF with Unusual Volume: XPHWednesday, August 15, 3:37 PM ET
The SPDR S&P Pharmaceuticals ETF (AMEX:XPH ) is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Wednesday, with over 357,000 shares traded versus three month average volume of about 121,000. Shares of XPH were up about 0.3% on the day.
Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Wednesday were Pfizer (NYSE:PFE ), trading up about 0.2% with over 11.5 million shares changing hands so far this session, and Bristol Myers Squibb (NYSE:BMY ), up about 0.6% on volume of over 6.5 million shares. Hi-tech Pharmacal (NASDAQ:HITK ) is the component faring the best Wednesday, higher by about 2.6% on the day, while Impax Laboratories (NASDAQ:IPXL ) is lagging other components of the SPDR S&P Pharmaceuticals ETF, trading lower by about 2.7%.
