Looking at options trading activity among components of the Russell 3000 index, there is noteworthy activity today in Invitae Corp (NVTA), where a total volume of 21,926 contracts has been traded thus far today, a contract volume which is representative of approximately 2.2 million underlying shares (given that every 1 contract represents 100 underlying shares). That number works out to 57.9% of NVTA's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 3.8 million shares. Especially high volume was seen for the $50 strike call option expiring March 19, 2021, with 4,600 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 460,000 underlying shares of NVTA. CEL-SCI Corporation (AMEX:CVM) saw options trading volume of 11,633 contracts, representing approximately 1.2 million underlying shares or approximately 57.4% of CVM's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 2.0 million shares.
Especially high volume was seen for the $30 strike call option expiring February 19, 2021, with 1,789 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 178,900 underlying shares of CVM. Particularly high volume was seen for the $270 strike put option expiring February 19, 2021, with 537 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 53,700 underlying shares of SEDG.
