Notable Friday Option Activity: USX, MMM, GDEN

Looking at options trading activity among components of the Russell 3000 index, there is noteworthy activity today in US Xpress Enterprises Inc (USX), where a total volume of 1,753 contracts has been traded thus far today, a contract volume which is representative of approximately 175,300 underlying shares (given that every 1 contract represents 100 underlying shares). That number works out to 47.9% of USX's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 365,760 shares. Especially high volume was seen for the $10 strike call option expiring March 19, 2021, with 623 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 62,300 underlying shares of USX. 3M Co (NYSE:MMM) options are showing a volume of 11,268 contracts thus far today. That number of contracts represents approximately 1.1 million underlying shares, working out to a sizeable 47.5% of MMM's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 2.4 million shares.
Particularly high volume was seen for the $200 strike call option expiring July 16, 2021, with 682 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 68,200 underlying shares of MMM. And Golden Entertainment Inc (NASDAQ:GDEN) options are showing a volume of 609 contracts thus far today. That number of contracts represents approximately 60,900 underlying shares, working out to a sizeable 47% of GDEN's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 129,665 shares.
Particularly high volume was seen for the $30 strike put option expiring March 19, 2021, with 263 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 26,300 underlying shares of GDEN.
