Among the underlying components of the S&P 500 index, we saw noteworthy options trading volume today in JPMorgan Chase & Co (NYSE:JPM), where a total of 130,645 contracts have traded so far, representing approximately 13.1 million underlying shares. That amounts to about 88.2% of JPM's average daily trading volume over the past month of 14.8 million shares. Particularly high volume was seen for the $160 strike call option expiring March 19, 2021, with 20,180 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 2.0 million underlying shares of JPM. Bank of America Corp (NYSE:BAC) saw options trading volume of 455,299 contracts, representing approximately 45.5 million underlying shares or approximately 77% of BAC's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 59.1 million shares.
Especially high volume was seen for the $40 strike call option expiring March 19, 2021, with 36,085 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 3.6 million underlying shares of BAC.
