Among the underlying components of the S&P 500 index, we saw noteworthy options trading volume today in Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA), where a total of 485,518 contracts have traded so far, representing approximately 48.6 million underlying shares. That amounts to about 177.1% of TSLA's average daily trading volume over the past month of 27.4 million shares. Especially high volume was seen for the $700 strike call option expiring March 05, 2021, with 46,157 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 4.6 million underlying shares of TSLA. Costco Wholesale Corp (NASDAQ:COST) options are showing a volume of 31,924 contracts thus far today. That number of contracts represents approximately 3.2 million underlying shares, working out to a sizeable 119.4% of COST's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 2.7 million shares.
Particularly high volume was seen for the $340 strike call option expiring March 05, 2021, with 856 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 85,600 underlying shares of COST.
