Notable Tuesday Option Activity: CRWD, NERV, MRNA

Looking at options trading activity among components of the Russell 3000 index, there is noteworthy activity today in CrowdStrike Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:CRWD), where a total volume of 25,879 contracts has been traded thus far today, a contract volume which is representative of approximately 2.6 million underlying shares (given that every 1 contract represents 100 underlying shares). That number works out to 53.5% of CRWD's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 4.8 million shares. Particularly high volume was seen for the $200 strike call option expiring April 09, 2021, with 1,696 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 169,600 underlying shares of CRWD. Minerva Neurosciences Inc (NASDAQ:NERV) saw options trading volume of 1,660 contracts, representing approximately 166,000 underlying shares or approximately 53.1% of NERV's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 312,465 shares.
Especially high volume was seen for the $5 strike call option expiring January 21, 2022, with 469 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 46,900 underlying shares of NERV.
