Looking at options trading activity among components of the Russell 3000 index, there is noteworthy activity today in Banc Of California Inc (NYSE:BANC), where a total volume of 1,775 contracts has been traded thus far today, a contract volume which is representative of approximately 177,500 underlying shares (given that every 1 contract represents 100 underlying shares). That number works out to 50% of BANC's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 355,310 shares. Particularly high volume was seen for the $18 strike call option expiring August 20, 2021, with 861 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 86,100 underlying shares of BANC. Particularly high volume was seen for the $114 strike call option expiring July 16, 2021, with 1,937 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 193,700 underlying shares of SBUX.
