Noteworthy Monday Option Activity: DHI, URI, NEE

Looking at options trading activity among components of the S&P 500 index, there is noteworthy activity today in Horton Inc (NYSE:DHI), where a total volume of 18,507 contracts has been traded thus far today, a contract volume which is representative of approximately 1.9 million underlying shares (given that every 1 contract represents 100 underlying shares). That number works out to 54.2% of DHI's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 3.4 million shares. Especially high volume was seen for the $87.50 strike call option expiring August 20, 2021, with 2,571 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 257,100 underlying shares of DHI. United Rentals Inc (NYSE:URI) saw options trading volume of 3,830 contracts, representing approximately 383,000 underlying shares or approximately 44.2% of URI's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 867,160 shares.
Especially high volume was seen for the $195 strike put option expiring July 23, 2021, with 381 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 38,100 underlying shares of URI. And NextEra Energy Inc (NYSE:NEE) saw options trading volume of 31,441 contracts, representing approximately 3.1 million underlying shares or approximately 43% of NEE's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 7.3 million shares.
Especially high volume was seen for the $75 strike call option expiring July 16, 2021, with 7,765 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 776,500 underlying shares of NEE.
