Noteworthy Monday Option Activity: AFL, TGT, FANG

Among the underlying components of the S&P 500 index, we saw noteworthy options trading volume today in AFLAC Inc (NYSE:AFL), where a total of 81,495 contracts have traded so far, representing approximately 8.1 million underlying shares. That amounts to about 282.3% of AFL's average daily trading volume over the past month of 2.9 million shares. Especially high volume was seen for the $62.50 strike call option expiring November 19, 2021, with 19,483 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 1.9 million underlying shares of AFL. Target Corp (NYSE:TGT) saw options trading volume of 54,802 contracts, representing approximately 5.5 million underlying shares or approximately 204.1% of TGT's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 2.7 million shares.
Particularly high volume was seen for the $260 strike call option expiring August 20, 2021, with 8,438 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 843,800 underlying shares of TGT. And Diamondback Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ:FANG) options are showing a volume of 35,343 contracts thus far today. Especially high volume was seen for the $80 strike call option expiring January 20, 2023, with 10,020 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 1.0 million underlying shares of FANG.
