Looking at options trading activity among components of the Russell 3000 index, there is noteworthy activity today in Signet Jewelers Ltd (NYSE:SIG), where a total volume of 3,585 contracts has been traded thus far today, a contract volume which is representative of approximately 358,500 underlying shares (given that every 1 contract represents 100 underlying shares). That number works out to 65.7% of SIG's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 545,585 shares. Particularly high volume was seen for the $57 strike put option expiring August 20, 2021, with 1,606 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 160,600 underlying shares of SIG. Twilio Inc (NYSE:TWLO) saw options trading volume of 9,178 contracts, representing approximately 917,800 underlying shares or approximately 65.3% of TWLO's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 1.4 million shares.
Particularly high volume was seen for the $345 strike put option expiring August 13, 2021, with 435 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 43,500 underlying shares of TWLO. And Medifast Inc (NYSE:MED) options are showing a volume of 488 contracts thus far today. That number of contracts represents approximately 48,800 underlying shares, working out to a sizeable 65.1% of MED's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 75,010 shares.
Especially high volume was seen for the $340 strike call option expiring August 20, 2021, with 352 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 35,200 underlying shares of MED.
