Noteworthy Friday Option Activity: SQ, GME, FSLR

Looking at options trading activity among components of the Russell 3000 index, there is noteworthy activity today in Square Inc (NYSE:SQ), where a total volume of 183,986 contracts has been traded thus far today, a contract volume which is representative of approximately 18.4 million underlying shares (given that every 1 contract represents 100 underlying shares). That number works out to 342.3% of SQ's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 5.4 million shares. Particularly high volume was seen for the $260 strike call option expiring November 19, 2021, with 13,801 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 1.4 million underlying shares of SQ. GameStop Corp (NYSE:GME) saw options trading volume of 122,543 contracts, representing approximately 12.3 million underlying shares or approximately 313.3% of GME's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 3.9 million shares.
Especially high volume was seen for the $200 strike call option expiring September 10, 2021, with 9,271 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 927,100 underlying shares of GME. And First Solar Inc (NASDAQ:FSLR) saw options trading volume of 33,399 contracts, representing approximately 3.3 million underlying shares or approximately 271.6% of FSLR's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 1.2 million shares.
Especially high volume was seen for the $105 strike call option expiring September 10, 2021, with 2,924 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 292,400 underlying shares of FSLR.
