Noteworthy Friday Option Activity: GOOG, ZM, MSTR

Looking at options trading activity among components of the Russell 3000 index, there is noteworthy activity today in Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG), where a total volume of 59,150 contracts has been traded thus far today, a contract volume which is representative of approximately 5.9 million underlying shares (given that every 1 contract represents 100 underlying shares). That number works out to 483.5% of GOOG's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 1.2 million shares. Particularly high volume was seen for the $2250 strike put option expiring January 21, 2022, with 1,859 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 185,900 underlying shares of GOOG. Zoom Video Communications Inc (NASDAQ:ZM) options are showing a volume of 101,260 contracts thus far today. That number of contracts represents approximately 10.1 million underlying shares, working out to a sizeable 221.6% of ZM's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 4.6 million shares.
Especially high volume was seen for the $275 strike call option expiring October 01, 2021, with 11,181 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 1.1 million underlying shares of ZM. And MicroStrategy Inc. (NASDAQ:MSTR) saw options trading volume of 10,542 contracts, representing approximately 1.1 million underlying shares or approximately 152% of MSTR's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 693,730 shares.
Especially high volume was seen for the $610 strike call option expiring October 01, 2021, with 261 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 26,100 underlying shares of MSTR.
