Noteworthy Tuesday Option Activity: NKLA, COOP, APO

Among the underlying components of the Russell 3000 index, we saw noteworthy options trading volume today in Nikola Corp (NASDAQ:NKLA), where a total of 63,063 contracts have traded so far, representing approximately 6.3 million underlying shares. That amounts to about 64.4% of NKLA's average daily trading volume over the past month of 9.8 million shares. Especially high volume was seen for the $15 strike call option expiring November 19, 2021, with 10,385 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 1.0 million underlying shares of NKLA. Mr Cooper Group Inc (NASDAQ:COOP) saw options trading volume of 6,000 contracts, representing approximately 600,000 underlying shares or approximately 64% of COOP's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 937,375 shares.
Especially high volume was seen for the $50 strike call option expiring January 21, 2022, with 4,992 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 499,200 underlying shares of COOP. And Apollo Global Management Inc Class A (NYSE:APO) options are showing a volume of 15,755 contracts thus far today. That number of contracts represents approximately 1.6 million underlying shares, working out to a sizeable 63% of APO's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 2.5 million shares.
Especially high volume was seen for the $55 strike put option expiring December 17, 2021, with 3,505 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 350,500 underlying shares of APO.
