Notable Monday Option Activity: RKT, DASH, AMAT

Looking at options trading activity among components of the Russell 3000 index, there is noteworthy activity today in Rocket Companies Inc Class A (NYSE:RKT), where a total volume of 25,320 contracts has been traded thus far today, a contract volume which is representative of approximately 2.5 million underlying shares (given that every 1 contract represents 100 underlying shares). That number works out to 46.4% of RKT's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 5.5 million shares. Particularly high volume was seen for the $15 strike put option expiring January 21, 2022, with 2,410 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 241,000 underlying shares of RKT. DoorDash Inc (NASDAQ:DASH) options are showing a volume of 19,442 contracts thus far today. That number of contracts represents approximately 1.9 million underlying shares, working out to a sizeable 46.1% of DASH's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 4.2 million shares.
Particularly high volume was seen for the $290 strike call option expiring January 20, 2023, with 3,016 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 301,600 underlying shares of DASH. And Applied Materials, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMAT) options are showing a volume of 32,471 contracts thus far today. Particularly high volume was seen for the $152.50 strike call option expiring December 03, 2021, with 1,523 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 152,300 underlying shares of AMAT.
