Notable Monday Option Activity: FSLY, MAR, ZION

Looking at options trading activity among components of the Russell 3000 index, there is noteworthy activity today in Fastly Inc (NYSE:FSLY), where a total volume of 14,558 contracts has been traded thus far today, a contract volume which is representative of approximately 1.5 million underlying shares (given that every 1 contract represents 100 underlying shares). That number works out to 48.4% of FSLY's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 3.0 million shares. Especially high volume was seen for the $40 strike put option expiring December 17, 2021, with 1,563 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 156,300 underlying shares of FSLY. Marriott International, Inc. (NASDAQ:MAR) options are showing a volume of 11,295 contracts thus far today. That number of contracts represents approximately 1.1 million underlying shares, working out to a sizeable 48.2% of MAR's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 2.3 million shares.
Especially high volume was seen for the $120 strike put option expiring January 21, 2022, with 2,490 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 249,000 underlying shares of MAR. And Zions Bancorporation, N.A. (NASDAQ:ZION) options are showing a volume of 6,017 contracts thus far today. That number of contracts represents approximately 601,700 underlying shares, working out to a sizeable 47.5% of ZION's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 1.3 million shares.
Particularly high volume was seen for the $65 strike call option expiring December 17, 2021, with 3,718 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 371,800 underlying shares of ZION.
