Among the underlying components of the Russell 3000 index, we saw noteworthy options trading volume today in Lowe's Companies Inc (NYSE:LOW), where a total of 19,929 contracts have traded so far, representing approximately 2.0 million underlying shares. That amounts to about 52.3% of LOW's average daily trading volume over the past month of 3.8 million shares. Especially high volume was seen for the $172.50 strike put option expiring May 20, 2022, with 1,720 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 172,000 underlying shares of LOW. Walt Disney Co. (NYSE:DIS) options are showing a volume of 88,937 contracts thus far today. That number of contracts represents approximately 8.9 million underlying shares, working out to a sizeable 49.1% of DIS's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 18.1 million shares.
Especially high volume was seen for the $110 strike call option expiring May 20, 2022, with 4,914 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 491,400 underlying shares of DIS.
