Biotechnology company, Daxor (NASDAQ:DXR) announced its second dividend payment of 2009 this morning of $0.25 per share. This amounts to a 150% increase from the prior dividend amount of $0.10 per share paid in June.
Despite the hefty dividend increase, shares of Daxor are trading slightly lower today, but still faring better than the general markets.
In other dividend news, oil and gas company, Apache (NASDAQ:APA), maintained its quarterly dividend of 15 cents per share. Auto parts wholesalers, Genuine Parts Company (NYSE:GPC), maintained its quarterly dividend of 40 cents per share. And diversified utility, Ameren Corporation (NYSE:AEE), maintained its quarterly dividend of 38.5 cents per share.
Among dividend increases, Lorillard (LO) announced its quarterly dividend of $1.00 per share, an increase of about 9% over its prior dividend in May of 92 cents.
