Smurfit-Stone Container (SSCC) shares are higher on Monday after RockTenn announced it plans to buy the container-board company for $3.5 billion. The merged companies will have annual revenue of about $9 billion, making the new entity the second largest manufacturer of container-board in the US.
Shares are higher by 27 percent.
Cabelas (CAB) shares are higher following an upgarde by Piper Jaffray (PJC) to "overweight." In the upgrade, the analyst cited improving credit card profitability, ammunition and firearm trends, as well as better margins.
